Change of leadership at the Cool Silicon e. V.
Helmut Warnecke (on the left) retired on September 30, 2017. As successor to the board position in Cool Silicon e. V. Torsten Thieme (right) was appointed.
The Cool Silicon e. V. used the annual general meeting of Silicon Saxony e. V. on 29.11.2017 as opportunity to officially say goodbye to Helmut Warnecke - with a very personal "Cool Award".
Torsten Thieme - Managing Director of memsfab GmbH and Member of the Executive Board of Silicon Saxony e. V. - became Deputy Chairman of Cool Silicon e. V. called. He is thus inheriting Helmut Warnecke, Managing Director of Infineon Dresden, who at his own request entered into professional retirement at the end of September 2017.
With Helmut Warnecke, both Silicon Saxony e. V. as well as the Cool Silicon e. V. are loosing a valued and enormously important board member.
"Helmut Warnecke has decisively influenced and shaped the work of Cool Silicon e. V. in the last eight years. His departure will leave a gap that is difficult to fill. I thank Helmut Warnecke for the inspiring and successful cooperation and wish him all the best on his further life! " says Prof. dr. Thomas Mikolajick, Scientific Director of NaMLab gGmbH, Professor of Nanoelectronic Materials at TU Dresden and Chairman of Cool Silicon e. V.
