SAW Sensor & Actuator Symposium 2018 in Dresden
The SAW Symposium, established internationally since 2010, will be jointly organized by IFW Dresden / SAWLab-Saxony, SAW Components Dresden GmbH and Silicon Saxony e. V. On 1 and 2 October 2018 , the event will take place at the Hotel Westin Bellevue Dresden. The symposium provides a platform for scientific exchange of ideas and informs partners from science and industry about new research results as well as innovative applications in the field of surface acoustic waves (SAW).
Their triumphant advance began with SAW components as high-frequency filters in telecommunications. Nowadays, they are among the key components of modern industrial society and are used in the areas of "Industry 4.0" and "Smart Home", for example for monitoring and controlling processes where other technologies can not be used due to harsh environmental conditions or moving plant components.
In addition to the already established field of SAW sensors, the new micro actuators based on SAW will also be presented. Thus, these novel devices are increasingly being used for mixing and sputtering, as acoustic micro-tweezers or for the transport of liquids or droplets in the field of microfluidics. They are a research focus in the SAW Lab of the IFW Dresden.
However, remote-readable SAW sensors, for example for gas, pressure, force or temperature measurement as well as associated readers and antennas, will continue to be the focus of the symposium.
Exhibition & Sponsoring
The SAW symposium offers an excellent opportunity to reach research scientists from science and industry. Therefore, the organizers would like to invite you to present yourself as an exhibitor or to support this international symposium through a sponsoring. www.saw-symposium.com/exhibits
